JOB DESCRIPTION:
Overall Summary of the Job:
The Asset Services Department is responsible for the processing of coupons and principal/maturity (P&I) related fixed income products through the lifecycle of the corporate event. The NY team supports the US markets primarily, with some Canadian and occasionally other global markets.

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Requires robust US market operations processing knowledge of US Treasuries, MBS and corporate bond securities.
  • Processing knowledge in Broadridge IMPACT/BPS environment is a plus.
  • Understand stock record positions and how they translate into coupon events
  • Knowledge of DTC processing, CA Web
  • Ability to create wire payments in Swift message format types MT202, MT103, MT599
  • Knowledge of SWIFT messaging is a plus, primarily MT564/565/566/567/568 messages
  • Understand basic payable/receivable balance sheet concepts and translate that knowledge when processing journal entries
  • Review cash/stock record reconciliations, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution on breaks
  • Act as liaison with internal/external business partners

Decision-Making Responsibility:

  • Must interpret validity of P&I claims and be able to confidently respond to counterparties
  • Independent decision making abilities while engaging Management when needed
  • Must ensure all regulatory requirements are understood and met
  • Performs according to prescribed procedures.

Candidate needs to understand basic accounting from a securities/operations standpoint. They need to understand placement of securities. Someone who understands payments and stock records and entitlement. This person needs to understand different types of bonds in the market and the terminology around payments/coupons and concepts. Understand the frequency of payments, who is entitled and how to get payments moved in and out the door. This could also be P&I or Dividends analyst person as the concepts are similar. Willing to bend on years of experience for the skills required.

  • Knowledge of income processing a plus including cash dividends, coupons an P&I
  • Knowledge of Broadridge platforms a plus in including BPS, DIVSY, REOR and Impact
  • Strong client service skills
  • Knowledge of ISO Swift messaging
  • Act as liaison with internal/external business partners
  • Products include US Equities and Fixed Income securities

Potential for extension and perm placement for the right person at the right time.

TOP 3 must-have skills 
1) Computer literacy, basic knowledge of MS Excel a must. Working knowledge of MS Outlook and Word
2) Must be detailed oriented, good problem solver, should have excellent and tactful communication skills
3) Minimum of 1 year experience in processing environment described in req
IMPACT application knowledge is a definite plus

Education -No required level, experience is more important. Some college would be great with a business background

Pay: 
$55 – $65 per hour.
