Our client, a leading insurance company is hiring a SP&E Project Manager on a long-term contract basis.

Summary:

The primary responsibility of the Project Manager is to plan and manage application development for various Corporate Applications projects. We seek a candidate who will not only drive project progress against an agreed upon project/sprint plans but also drives the projects to successful completion via Risk Management, Project Financials, Resource Allocations, Communication Plans, Issues Log and Change Control processes in both an agile and waterfall project management environment.

Responsibilities:

    • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Experience working with onshore and offshore teams
    • Drive project delivery from inception to production release including scope definition, goals, requirements, development, user testing and release phases ensuring compliance to SDLC and SOX principles and guidelines as applicable
    • Manage the project stakeholder expectations to ensure ownership and success.
    • Facilitate business and operational relationships between clients and internal teams with effective and efficient communication to ensure accurate and timely project delivery
    • Employ and enforce formalized project management processes, such as change management, issues management, risk management, and documentation version control
    • Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies; present and manage changes to project structure, scope and delivery timeframes
    • Manage and report all project financials
    • Ensure the overall success of the project by being accountable for all aspects of the project and providing overall project transparency
    • Provide high level executive reports and detailed updates on a continuous basis for all projects.
    • Coordinate internal resources and (offshore & onshore) vendors for flawless execution of projects
    • Lead, arrange and facilitate all Project Management and scrum ceremonies including Stand-ups, Reviews, Retrospectives, Grooming, and Sprint & Release planning
    • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint/release progress to all affected teams and management
    • Manage backlog and ensure it is properly prioritized and sized as appropriate
    • Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution to improve team productivity while promoting continuous improvement
    • Monitor Jira timesheet entry to ensure accuracy

Required Qualifications:

    • BA/BS Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
    • PMI and/or CSM certifications a plus
    • 7-10+ years project management experience
    • Proven ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced changing environment and participate in continual process improvement
    • Proficient in tools used in support of office and project management (e.g., MS Office, Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, Jira)
    • Demonstrated team leadership and project management expertise
    • Possess the judgment and ability to modify project management approach based on project size, complexity and team
    • Knowledge with Back Office business domains (e.g. HR, Finance, Legal) platform to understand the projects and raise questions in order to help correctly steer them to completion.
    • Ability to build and maintain business relationships with employees, business partners and vendors
    • Comfortable hosting meetings with various audiences, (Developers, Analysts, management)
    • Self-starter that requires little direction
    • Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to create detailed time-phased project plans with limited oversight
    • Ability to collaborate with internal and external contacts of all levels
    • Ability to act as a project manager full scope through financials to completion
    • Ability to work effectively cross-functionally
    • Possesses excellent planning and organizational skills
    • Displays very good written communication, verbal and listening skills
    • Exhibits very good facilitation skills
