Our client, a leading financial company is hiring a Quality Assurance Consultant with Trading on a contract basis.

Summary

We are currently hiring a Quality Assurance Analyst to join our team in a remote capacity on contract basis! In this role, you'll be primarily responsible for understanding moderate to highly sophisticated testing requirements, test scripting, test execution, and reporting test results for enterprise level financial software applications. Job Responsibilities:

  • Review user requirements and perform impact analysis of the changes to be tested.
  • Review QA procedures/processes and coordinate the definition and reporting of QA metrics to assess the quality of the delivered application software.
  • Supervise and participate in the preparation of comprehensive test plans and scripts for new and changed functionality as per department policies and procedures for the following: automated and manual; positive and negative; regression, integration, system, and smoke testing.
  • Assist the manager to ensure understanding of the testing scope & actively participate in planning the testing activity – setting landmarks, resourcing & monitoring.
  • Participate in defining and implementing best practices, scripting guidelines and standards, and evaluation and use of efficiency improvements.
  • Responsible for all new testing activities, while defining the testing process across the product or teams.
  • Testing of sophisticated & critical projects, for both new functionality within the existing product and for new product testing.
  • Collaborate closely with the development teams and the product managers on testing discrepancies identified.
  • Prioritize and handle comprehensive and re-usable test data to cover all test conditions. Ensure test data sets are published and made available to developers.
  • Understand and implement the organization’s quality standards and procedures.
  • Actively participate in the development of consistent testing methodology/process & ensure implementation to improve the quality.
  • Provide regular updates to the QA manager (or higher) regarding the status and progress of discrepancies as well as the overall release quality.
  • Communicate consolidated test report for the product to the clients/management, where applicable.
  • Provide organizational change metrics on assigned product responsibilities.
  • Coordinate production turnover validation, wherever applicable.
  • Provide sign-off approval to promote tested application code to the production environment.
  • Build a strong communication channel with members of development, customer support, product management and the implementations team.
  • Participate in organizational change meetings with development and product teams to review current changes in each release cycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years software QA testing, programming, analysis, or system support
  • Experience with Financials/Trading systems
  • Solid grasp of Quality assurance procedures. (Test plans, Strategies, executions, traceability, entry/exit criteria, client engagement etc.)
  • Offshore/Onsite Experience is required. (We have a big team at offshore and the candidate needs to coordinate and optimally work hand in hand).
  • Superb communication skills
  • Proven track record of crafting test cases, test plans, execute, and familiarity with QC.
