Our client, a leading financial services company is hiring for a DevOps Engineering Vice President on a long term contract basis.

Summary:
The client is looking for colleagues with a strong sense of ownership and ability to drive solutions. The primary responsibilities of this candidate will be to support a datacenter migration.
The candidate is expected to do some systems development, conduct code reviews and test changes as needed, as well as participate in a variety of architecture and design discussions. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated and collaborative team player committed to delivering solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Gain comprehensive understanding of application deployment framework components, metadata patterns, configuration management utilities and other aspects of release-deployment management.
• Ensuring integration patterns for applications and their deployments are designed, built, and configured to meet technology specifications within the company.
• Work cross-organizationally across teams to identify issues and/or areas of concern related to automation, deployment and configuration management tooling and remediate any such issues in a timely manner.
• Partnership with cross-organizational teams to identify issues and provide solutions as needed.
• Work jointly with Infrastructure teams to address issues with core Puppet components and aspects of fleet management.
• Prudence and diligence around troubleshooting and resolving issues while mitigating recurrence with short- and long-term solutions and fixes.
• Candidate is expected to be responsible for managing their own tasks, task execution and day-to-day duties within the team.
• Organized with the ability to prioritize tasks accurately and efficiently.
Required Skills:
• Minimum ~3 years of systems development experience with Python, Perl and/or Shell-Scripting.
• Minimum ~3 years of Unix / Linux
• Strong problem management, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Experience in troubleshooting within enterprise environments.
• Diagnosing and addressing performance issues using performance monitors, custom scripts and various tuning techniques.
• Ability to work well as a team and as an individual with minimal supervision.
• Experience with configuring and managing high-availability systems.
• Experience with networking, security & application load balancing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired skills:
• Experience with Puppet
• Experience with Docker and Docker Compose to define and deploy multi-container applications
• Experience with Subversion VCS
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce designs, patterns and architecture
• Strong documentation skills
Pay Range: $66- $81/hour
